چکیده

We present first investigation of Pi 2 pulsations observed from MAGnetic Data Acquisition System (MAGDAS) at Fayum and Aswan stations (FYM and ASW) in Egypt. MAGDAS is an important component of the International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI). We carried out our analysis through a visual inspection comparing our events with burst in AE index during the period from November 2008 to October 2009. We used two different methods: (i) Fourier transformations and (ii) Wavelet power spectrum. Pi 2 events of H component, at FYM and ASW, have the same waveform and the same frequency, and some times the same amplitude, but in some cases FYM has relatively higher amplitude than ASW © 2011 BBSCS RN SWS. Investigation of the effects of geomagnetic storms on ionospheric irregularities using the combination of ground-based GNSS and SWARM satellites

Geomagnetic storms are one of the main causes of ionospheric perturbations in different sizes, depending on their intensity, which could disturb radio signals passing through this medium. On September 6-12, 2017, the sudden storm commencement (SSC) was the most massive geomagnetic storm of the year due to the X9 solar flare caused by a coronal mass ejection (CME). IMF-Bz and Dst values increase...

A slow mode wave as a possible source of Pi 2 and associated particle precipitation: a case study

An intensi®cation of auroral luminosity referred to as an auroral break-up often accompanies the onset of geomagnetic pulsation (Pi 2) at the dip-equator. One such auroral break-up occurred at 2239 UT on 16 June, 1986, being accompanied by weak substorm activity (AE 50 nT) which was recorded in all-sky image of Syowa Station, Antarctica (66.2°S, 71.8°E in geomagnetic coordinates). The associate...

Geomagnetic Field Eect over Azimuth Anisotropy of Cosmic Rays via Study of Primary Particles

Geomagnetic field is a one of the candidates for creation of anisotropy in azimuth distribution of extensive air showers over the entered cosmic rays to the atmosphere. Here we present the question: Is there any azimuth anisotropy flux in the upper level of the atmosphere due to the geomagnetic field over the entered cosmic-rays? The obtained answer is: yes. This investigation showed an agreeme...

Information from the geomagnetic field triggers a reduced adrenocortical response in a migratory bird.

Long-distance migrants regularly pass ecological barriers, like the Sahara desert, where extensive fuel loads are necessary for a successful crossing. A central question is how inexperienced migrants know when to put on extensive fuel loads. Beside the endogenous rhythm, external cues have been suggested to be important. Geomagnetic information has been shown to trigger changes in foraging beha...

Phytochemical and biological Investigation of Clivia nobilis flowers Cultivated in Egypt

Amaryllidaceae is a well-known family for its high alkaloidal content. These alkaloids comprise a unique group of bases that have been found to occur in this family. The Amaryllidaceae alkaloids represent a large and still expanding group of isoquinoline alkaloids, the majority of which are not known to occur in any other family of plants This article reports on the phytochemical investigation ...
